Faith

What is Catholic Education?

At Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools, we put faith into action in every lesson we teach, every extracurricular activity we host, and every relationship we foster because faith is not a subject, but a way of life. Recognizing that each child is uniquely created in the image of God we respect and nurture the dignity of each child, and develop all aspects of the child; intellectually, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

All students are welcome at St. Gabriel Education Centre. Our staff is able to create unique relationships with our students through small classes and one-on-one assistance. Our Patron Saint is St. Gabriel, the Archangel and messenger of God. Like St. Gabriel, our staff is able to communicate the values of the gospels through their interactions with our students.

You can find out more about faith in our schools on our division website.

Chaplain Chats

Unique to the Catholic school is the capacity of its teachers to model and witness the Catholic faith to students. Through the spirituality of communion and the permeation of faith and wisdom within pedagogy and curricular content, our students experience what it means to live like Jesus. Therefore formal, intentional, and visible supports are in place within the Catholic school so that its teachers provide optimal faith-based learning experiences for students.

The school chaplain plays an essential role in supporting the principal and all staff in realizing these outcomes for our schools. We are so blessed to have Doug Kramer as our division chaplain.
