Our classes are synchronous and we offer all 4 core, religion, health, PE and options for students in Alberta in grades 7-9. Exams are online, with the exception of the grade 9 PAT which will be in person at an educational facility (in St. Albert if you're within 100km of St. Albert or at another approved facility in Alberta).

Reasons for attending St. Gabes:

  • Busy life with sports, family, jobs
  • Classrooms too big, hallways too crowded, pace of school is too fast or too slow
  • Fitting a course into your schedule
  • Looking for a non-traditional learning environment
  • Upgrading courses for post-secondary applications.
    • If you are under 20 years of age as of September 1, 2022 - there is no fee for courses at St. Gabes
    • If you are over 20 years of age as of September 1, 2022 - we charge $130.00/credit ($650.00/5 credit course). This is significantly cheaper than upgrading in a college, technical institute or other outreach high schools in Alberta.

Registration Options:

  • You can choose to take all of your courses with St. Gabes and will no longer be registered at your previous school.
  • You can take just a few courses with St. Gabes but stay registered at your primary school. The school where you are taking the majority of your credits is considered your primary school.

Online Education:

  • Seminars - your teachers will offer a seminar once or twice per week that you will join via Google Meet.
  • Course work - all your course work will be completed on our learning management system called Moodle. All work is submitted through Moodle.
  • Exams - If you are within 100km of St. Gabriel Education Centre, you will need to make arrangements to come into the centre to write your exams. If you are further than 100km away, you will need to find a proctor to supervise your exams. Please click HERE to read about our proctor process.
  • One to one and small group help - email your teachers should you need assistance in any of your courses.
