Covid-19 and School Closures

St. Gabriel High School is now closed to student access effective immediately until further notice.

On March 15, 2020 at 4:30 p.m., Alberta's chief medical officer of health, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Premier Kenney, and Minister LaGrange held a news conference to update Albertans on COVID-19.

Premier Kenney announced that child care centres will be closed, and all in-person classes in the province’s K-12 schools and post-secondary institutes will be cancelled until further notice due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In all school jurisdictions, including Greater St. Albert Catholic Schools, all students are to stay home.  All students, parents, and staff should have received an email from our Superintendent of schools, Mr. Keohane

School closures are to help enforce social isolation.  Please remember to not gather in groups, if you must be in a public place to keep a distance of 1 to 2 metres between yourself and others whenever possible, and always wash your hands before touching your face.

St Gabriel High School will be closed to student access effective immediately until further notice.  Please watch for further messages from Mr. Keohane, from your Principal, Mr. Feist, and from your teachers.  You should be receiving more details regarding how your courses will proceed by noon tomorrow (Monday, March 16th).

In the meantime, if you are feeling anxious and need to talk with somebody, please phone your teacher, a school administrator, one of our wonderful front office ladies, or our school counsellor, Mrs. Tracy Delhez (email:tdelhez@gsacrd.ab.ca).
